    Hi Ralph,

Your blog is very impressive. I found many interesting things for me reading it.

I will have small issue to you. I’m working on exporting work items from jazz but I don’t know how can I export history of work item. Do you know how to do such thing?

      Hi Mateusz,

thanks, it is rewarding if it helps people.

With respect to export the history, I don’t think the built in export provides that capability. As far as I can see you can only select attributes and relationships in the export.

Given this, if you wanted to export the history you would have to use the same query for automation in a plain java client library application to get the work items and then try to access the history of the work item.

I haven’t coded anything yet to get the history, but I think I remember I have seen posts on Jazz.net around the code and it might be worth running a search there.

I collected some links in the past and you could check

      https://jazz.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=217
      https://jazz.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3887
      https://jazz.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22518

If you can export the history you could associate your CSV export and your custom export using the ID.

You could probably recreate work items with history too, but I would rather suggest to look into putting the history as text into a read only attribute.

I hope this helps a bit.

    Hi Ralph,
I am working in a MNC where RTC is using as defect management software.
I need to get defect related data from multiple project area using some reports.
To my understanding currently this feature is not available in RTC.
Please can you guide me on this.

    Thanks in advance

      Hi Jayeah,

cross project queries is a much asked for feature request. Using Plain Java Client Libraries, you could iterate all projects, run queries on each project and then collect all data. So using the API you could get there with some work.

    Hi,
I’m a final year student of computing. My project is to develop a dashboard that connects to RTC stream and allows to prototype new methods for a new team member.
My time is limited so I’m looking for a framework that I could use to accomplish that task.
    Maybe Grails would do?
It would help me a lot if You could throw in some ideas?
    Thanks

    Hello,
I would like to do an analysis of re-opened defects in jazz. I would like to export the defect in the following categories:
    1. All re-oped defects (These defect I will get once applying the filter)
    2. Re-opened defects – these defects may have the status like in progress, resolved, closed, etc after a period of time. I would like to export the defects where the status of the defect was Re-oped once up on a time in the life cycle of the defect.
